Introducing yourself to first-time visitors. ______

Skin that brightens your expression can only be produced if you are happy in mind and body.

To prevent the condition from worsening, we recommend that people with sensitive skin in particular check this.

I I suffered from atopic dermatitis caused by cosmetics , and I was suffering mentally and physically every day.

After that, I worked in product development at a major cosmetics company, and learned why my skin had become rough.

I'm confused by the surprising irritating and ineffective ingredients in organic and additive-free cosmetics out there...

Why does acupuncture relieve pain?

"Acupuncture seems painful," "Does it really work?" You may be thinking these things. However, while acupuncture is an ancient form of traditional Chinese medicine, its effectiveness is gradually being elucidated by modern science. In this article, we will introduce scientific evidence on why acupuncture relieves pain and the acupressure points that are said to be beneficial for beauty .

There are four main mechanisms by which acupuncture relieves pain :

1. Improved blood flow through axon reflex

When a needle is inserted into a specific acupoint, the stimulation is transmitted to the peripheral nerves, causing a phenomenon known as the "axon reflex." This is a reaction in which the blood vessels around the stimulated acupoint dilate, increasing blood flow. Improved blood flow makes it easier to remove pain-inducing substances that have accumulated in the painful area . Furthermore, the relaxation of muscle tension causes blood vessels to dilate, further promoting blood circulation, which also contributes to pain relief.

2. Activating tendon spindles to relieve muscle tension

Stiff shoulders and body tension are often caused by excessive muscle tension. In fact, there are sensors called "tendon spindles" in the muscles that detect the tension (pulling force) that occurs when the muscles contract . By stimulating acupressure points such as the shoulder well, these tendon spindles are activated, sending signals to relax the muscles. Relieving muscle tension improves blood circulation, which in turn reduces pain.

3. Pain relief through the release of endogenous opioids

Acupuncture stimulation activates our body's natural pain-relieving system. Specifically, it promotes the release of substances called "endogenous opioids" in the brain. Endogenous opioids have an effect similar to morphine, and relieve the sensation of pain by calming nerve excitation. This is one example of how acupuncture draws out the body's natural healing power.

4. Increased bioenergetics: ATP and adenosine

In 2010, a research team from the University of Rochester in the United States published some fascinating research results. When acupuncture was applied to a pressure point called Zusanli, substances such as ATP and ADP released from damaged muscle cells were broken down extracellularly, causing the concentration of adenosine to increase by up to 24 times. Adenosine is known to have anti-inflammatory and calming effects on nerve excitation, and is thought to be deeply involved in the reduction of pain when stimulation is applied to areas with chronic pain.

Acupuncture is not only effective in alleviating pain, but is also expected to have beauty benefits. In particular, cosmetic acupuncture, which stimulates pressure points on the face, has the following skin-beautifying effects!

Improved blood circulation for brighter skin tone: Stimulating acupressure points on the face improves blood flow, reducing dullness and brightening skin tone.

Promotes metabolism: Promotes cell activation and normalizes skin turnover, leading to healthy, beautiful skin.

Reduces swelling: Promotes lymphatic flow and helps eliminate excess fluid and waste, reducing facial swelling.

Lifting effect: By relieving muscle tension and tightening the muscles, it leads to the improvement of sagging and wrinkles.

What are the specific acupressure points that are said to be good for beautiful skin?

Bright and clear

Between the inner corner of the eye and the base of the nose. Effective for dark circles and puffiness under the eyes.

Shihaku

Apply directly below the pupil, one finger's width below the edge of the eye bone. For sagging under the eyes and nasolabial folds.

Cheek wheel

For the jaw area, facial swelling, and lifting.

Welcoming fragrance

On both sides of the nostrils. For rough skin around the nose and nasolabial folds.

Gokoku

The back of the hand, where the bones of the thumb and index finger meet. Improves blood circulation throughout the body and is good for rough skin.

*ATP (adenosine triphosphate): An important substance that stores and supplies energy in the body.

* ADP (adenosine diphosphate): A substance in which one phosphate group has been removed from ATP. This is the form that ATP takes after releasing energy.

* Endogenous opioids: Neurotransmitters produced in the brain that have effects similar to morphine, suppressing pain and producing a sense of well-being.

* Tendon: A tough connective tissue that connects muscles to bones.

* Axon reflex: A reflex that occurs when a stimulus branches off along the axon of a peripheral nerve (a projection extending from a nerve cell) and travels in the opposite direction. In acupuncture and moxibustion, this causes vasodilation.

* Ashi Sanri: This pressure point is located on the outside of the shin, four fingers below the kneecap. It is said to have various effects, such as regulating the stomach and intestines and boosting the immune system.

* Adenosine: A substance produced by the breakdown of ATP and ADP. It has various physiological effects , including vasodilatory, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective effects .
