Johnson & Johnson (J&J) recently stopped manufacturing and selling talc-based baby powder worldwide in 2022 .
It has been on the market for about 130 years. The name "Baby Powder" gives the impression of being "gentle on babies" and "gentle on skin," but talc-based baby powder has led to tens of thousands of lawsuits filed against J&J by women and their families who claim that the asbestos contained in the powder caused ovarian cancer.
J&J has consistently maintained the safety of its talc products. I'm glad they've stopped selling them!
Following the cancer lawsuit, the baby powder ingredient was changed to cornstarch.
Talc: This is listed in another FRMA article as a carcinogenic ingredient.
