Zen breathing techniques, especially "ZEN breathing techniques," are based on the breathing techniques left behind by the 18th-century Zen master Hakuin, the founder of the Rinzai sect of Buddhism, in his "Yasen Kanwa." This breathing technique aims to release physical and mental discomfort by adjusting posture and breathing.
Correct your posture |
We focus on creating the correct posture while understanding the structure of bones and muscles, which will help you breathe more smoothly and relax your mind and body. |
Regulate your breath and calm your mind |
Breathe while imagining the inside of your body. Imagine that you are monitoring your body. |
Continuous practice |
It is important to incorporate it into your daily life and make it a habit on an ongoing basis. Zen breathing techniques are said to be effective in reducing stress, and are recommended for use in stressful environments such as the workplace or school. |

The term "technique" (soft butter) and "introspection" (naikan) come up, and it seems a bit difficult to understand. So, I'd like to introduce some other easy breathing techniques. I also practice all of the following and highly recommend them.
abdominal breathing |
There may be no one who doesn't know this. It's a method of breathing in to expand your stomach and breathing out to contract it. It's easy to incorporate into your daily life. |
Box breathing |
A simple and effective breathing technique to reduce stress and calm the mind.
|
4-7-8 breathing method |
It is especially suitable before bedtime.Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold your breath for 7 seconds, and exhale for 8 seconds. |
Alternate nostril breathing |
It refreshes the brain and improves concentration.Hold one nostril closed and inhale through the other, then switch nostrils and exhale. |
Kapalabhati Breathing |
Take a strong breath in through your nose and Once, twice, three times... Until the breath lasts, Exhale forcefully, using your abdominal muscles.I often do this before yoga. It's effective in improving blood circulation and tightening abdominal muscles, and it's a great way to refresh your mind. However, it puts a lot of strain on the body, so you need to be careful. It can make you feel dizzy. |
